Game with the Computer
Want to learn the basics stress-free? We recommend starting with Deberc against the computer. It’s the perfect way to study the mechanics, learn to count cards, and understand the basic strategy.
The computer plays by clear algorithms, helping you adapt and make smarter decisions. Even experienced players can benefit from practicing with a bot - it’s a safe way to test new tactics, try risky moves, and polish strong combinations without losing points. Great preparation before tournaments and real matches.
Game with Real Opponents
Playing Deberc with real people - that’s a whole new level. Here, bluffing, psychology, and unpredictable decisions matter. Opponents can change style, mislead, and provoke. Learn to read your opponent’s behavior, react to surprises, and quickly adapt your strategy.
This kind of online Deberc reveals true mastery. Each match with people is unique, and victory feels especially rewarding. Live games give you experience no bot can provide: surprises, creative moves, and the thrill of competition.
Remember gaming etiquette: respect your opponents, play fair, don’t stall. Toxicity and provocation are prohibited. In Deberc, strategy matters - but so does respect for your partners.

Team Deberc
Team Deberc - is a battle of two pairs (2 vs 2). Here, it’s not only about playing well individually but also about understanding your partner: reading their moves, supporting, and not setting them up. A strong pair feels almost telepathic. The winning team is the most coordinated one, not just the strongest player.
Partners sit opposite each other. Each scores individually, but the total adds up for the team. One player’s mistake can affect everyone. That’s why understanding your teammate’s style - the cards they play, how they react to risk, and how they support strategy - is crucial. Even online, without gestures or eye contact, you can “read” your partner’s play style if you play together regularly.
Klabber
Klabber - a close “relative” of Deberc, especially popular in Odesa. The games are similar in mechanics and deck but differ in scoring and some tactics. If you like Deberc, Klabber will bring new emotions and excitement.
It’s easy here: log in, pick a format, and start a Klabber match online. This version is more dynamic, aggressive, and full of unique features. Try Klabber for a fresh perspective on card strategies with Odesa spirit and distinctive atmosphere.
Questions and Answers (FAQ):
Deberc - what is the essence of the game?
Deberc is a trick-taking card game. You can play team Deberc two versus two or play individually with two, three, or four players. The goal is simple: be the first to score 301, 501, or 1001 points, depending on the agreed rules.
Deberc online - what are the advantages of playing on the Internet?
The advantages of playing Deberc online are undeniable, especially in the era of viruses, since no real-life viruses can spread online! The Gaming Club always has many opponents ready to play right now. Here you can make friends, chat privately or in the in-game chat while playing. You can send and receive gifts. Deberc vs Klabber - what’s the difference?
Klabber is a variation of Deberc popular in Odesa. It features tougher rules and its own terminology - for example, “bait” is sometimes called “beyt” or “bolt,” the trump Jack is called “trash,” the trump nine is “manella,” and a Terz of 7,8,9 is called “pioneer.”
How do you count points in Deberc?
7, 8, 9 - zero points; Jack - 2 points; Queen - 3 points; King - 4 points; Ten - 10 points; Ace - 11 points. Note that the trump Jack and trump nine are scored differently - they are worth 20 and 14 points respectively. There are also special combinations that bring extra points, described in detail in the Deberc rules, including the rarest combination - “Deberc.”
How many points do “Terz” and “Polsta” give in Deberc?
“Terz” is a combination of three consecutive cards of the same suit, e.g., 7-8-9 or Jack-Queen-King. A Terz is worth 20 points and must be declared during your turn. If two players have the same Terz, the one with the higher top card wins. A trump Terz always beats a non-trump one. “Polsta” (also called “Poltina”) is four consecutive cards of the same suit, e.g., 7-8-9-10 or Jack-Queen-King-Ace, worth 50 points. Polsta beats any Terz and can be declared at the start of a turn. If two players have Polsta, the one with the higher top card wins. Trump Polsta always beats non-trump.
What is “Bella” in an online Deberc game?
“Bella” is a combination of the trump King and Queen. It doesn’t beat other combinations but also cannot be beaten by any. Bella is worth 20 points. A player can declare “Bella” depending on the pre-set game agreement in Deberc settings.
What is a “Bait” in Deberc?
“Bait” is a situation when the player who declared the trump takes fewer points than the opponent. In this case, their points are added to the opponent’s total, and the player gets a “bait” (0 points).
This section will help a beginner understand how to play Deberc if they don’t know the rules yet.
Deberc is played by 2, 3, or 4 opponents. You can play every player for themselves or in pairs, using a 32-card deck (Ace down to 7 in each suit). Deberc consists of trick-taking and declaring card combinations. The winner is the player who first reaches the agreed number of points. In our Game Club, you can choose target scores for Deberc: 301, 501, or 1001.
Dealing the Cards
The rules of Deberc are not hard to grasp. Each player is dealt 6 cards. Dealing proceeds clockwise. The top card of the remaining deck is turned face up to determine the trump suit for the start of bidding. If, on the first deal, any player receives four sevens of different suits among their six cards, a mandatory redeal occurs.
Bidding for Trump
The player with the right to act may accept the current trump and play, or refuse-pass. If they declare the game in the first bidding round, the current trump remains in effect, and the player who chose to play must score the most points in that round. If all players say PASS in the first bidding round, a second round begins. Now, in turn, any player may choose a trump suit at their discretion, except the suit that was trump in the first round.
When playing WITH OBLIGATIONS (forced trump declaration), the player who speaks last in the second bidding round must choose a trump and play if everyone else has passed. The “WITH OBLIGATIONS” mode is a convention you can toggle when creating a game.
After bidding and announcing trump, each player is dealt three more cards. In two- or three-player games, if the game was declared in the first bidding round, then before the first lead and before declaring combinations, each player may exchange a trump seven (if they have it) for the face-up trump card.
Dealing may rotate around the table, or the dealer can be the winner of the previous round.
When creating a table, the right to the first lead may be given either to the player who declared the game or to the first player after the dealer.
Next comes the declaration of combinations.
How Points Are Scored in Deberc
Points in Deberc are awarded for cards taken in tricks, for combinations, and for taking the last trick of the round.
Non-trump card order and values:
A = 11 points
10 = 10 points
K = 4 points
Q = 3 points
J = 2 points
9, 8, and 7 = 0 points
Trump suit order and values differ:
J = 20 points
9 = 14 points
A = 11 points
10 = 10 points
K = 4 points
Q = 3 points
8 and 7 = 0 points
The player who takes the last trick always receives 10 points.
Combinations in Deberc
Three consecutive cards from the sequence A K Q J 10 9 8 7 make a TIERCE - worth 20 points;
Four or more consecutive cards from that sequence make a FIFTY - worth 50 points;
Seven consecutive cards from that sequence make DEBERC;
Trump K and Q (Bella) - 20 points.
Each player may declare their combinations (if there are several, all are declared). If multiple players have combinations, the higher one is determined by the following Deberc rules:
A player or team holding DEBERC wins the game regardless of the current score;
FIFTY outranks any TIERCE;
For identical types, the one with the higher top rank (the “rank” is the highest card of the sequence) wins;
If the top rank is the same, a trump sequence is higher (when the convention “Trump Combination ON” is enabled). This is an optional rule you can change in the game settings when creating a table;
If both non-trump combinations have the same top rank, the combination counts for the player who is earliest in dealing order.
Only the player with the highest combination scores for combinations. No card may be used in more than one combination, except the Bella cards. If the player with the highest combination has taken at least one trick, they add their combination points to the points from their tricks. If a player takes no tricks, their combination points do not count.
Depending on the game settings, combinations may be declared either together with a player’s first lead or before play begins.
If the setting [WITH 1st MOVE] is chosen - each player declares a combination, if any, at the moment of their first lead. The winning combination is shown after the final play of the first round of tricks.
If the setting [BEFORE PLAY] is chosen - each player declares, if any, after the second dealing round and before the first lead. The cards of the winning combination are shown immediately after comparison.
The BELLA combination is unique: it does not beat other combinations, nor is it beaten by any other combination. Bella is not declared before the first move like other combinations. It may be declared at any moment when the player plays one of the Bella cards. To declare Bella, when playing the King or Queen (of Bella), announce “Bella.” Bella will not count if the player has taken no tricks.
Play of the Hand
In the card game Deberc, the trick-play rules are simple. You must follow suit or overtake within the suit. If you cannot follow suit, you must play a trump. If a trump is led, you must overtrump with a higher trump if possible. If you have neither the led suit nor any trumps, you may discard any card. The trick goes to the player who played the highest card of the led suit or the highest trump, and that player leads next. Taken tricks are turned face down.
Counting the Score
After the last trick of the round is played, each player totals their points from cards and adds any points from valid combinations. The last trick adds 10 points.
If the DECLARER scores fewer points than the opponent in a two-player game, or fewer than both opponents in a three-player game, this is called a BITE (also “Baid” or “Bolt”). The player who receives a BITE records 0 points.
If the DECLARER and the opponent(s) score the same number of points, the outcome is called “Hanging.” A hanging bite in Deberc means the DECLARER’s points for this deal are suspended until the next round, while the opponent records their points. After the next deal, if the DECLARER wins, they receive points for both rounds; if they lose, the opponent receives points for both.
Penalties
On a bite, the declarer’s collected points are not credited. They are split between the opponents if there are two players, or go to the one who scored the most points if three or four are playing. A “B” symbol appears in the results table for a bite. After three BITES, a −100 penalty may be applied.
Penalty for taking no tricks. In the settings there is an optional agreement NO-TRICK GAME. If −50 or −100 is selected, a player who takes no tricks receives that penalty. If NO PENALTY is selected, the player is not punished.
End of the Game
The game ends when a player or team reaches the set number of points. In the settings you can choose one of two scoring modes to determine the winner.
If “REACH POINTS” is selected, the winner is the team or player who reaches the target at the moment of taking a trick, without waiting for the round to finish-except when that trick is the last one.
The second option is “FINISH ROUND.” With this setting, the game ends after the player or team that has reached the winning score finishes the round. If two participants reach the required total, the winner is the one with more points. If tied, the winner is the player or team that declared the game. If two non-declarers tie after the final round’s play, the winner is the player who is first after the dealer.
This second method of determining the winner is typically used in tournaments under the sport version of Deberc.
Setting Parameters (Conventions) in the Table (Game)
Before starting, you can configure the following game parameters:
Number of players: from two to four, or team play two-on-two;
Target score required to win;
Play WITH OBLIGATIONS or WITHOUT. With OBLIGATIONS, the last speaker must choose trump and declare the game. WITHOUT OBLIGATIONS, if all refuse to choose trump, there is a redeal;
Dealer order - AROUND THE TABLE or WINNER;
First lead belongs to the player who declared trump, or to the one AFTER THE DEALER;
The face-up card - the potential trump in four-player games - goes to the Declarer or to the Dealer;
Trump combination outranks non-trump at equal top rank: setting can be OFF or ON;
When combinations are declared: with each player’s 1st MOVE or before the first move;
Whether Bella may be declared with either card;
Whether a non-scoring (unmade) Bella is still counted;
Whether −100 points are deducted upon a player’s third Bite;
Whether there is a no-trick penalty, and whether it is 50 or 100 points;
Whether the round is finished after reaching the target score, or the game ends immediately upon taking the winning trick.
Rules for Team Deberc
Team Deberc is played by four players with a 32-card deck (Ace down to 7 in each suit). Points scored by teammates are summed. The team that first reaches the agreed total wins. Commonly, the target is 501 points.
The online rules for Team Deberc are analogous to Classic Deberc, except that it is played two-on-two and partners play in the team’s interest.
Deberc for Two Players
Deberc for two has several differences from 3–4 player games:
Number of cards: Each player receives 6 cards, fewer than in multiplayer versions that often deal 8. In two-player Deberc, 6 cards in sequence still make a Fifty; a 7-card sequence for a Hundred isn’t possible.
No team play: Unlike 3- or 4-player formats with teams, in two-player Deberc everyone plays for themselves.
Bidding: With two players, bidding is faster since there’s no need to consider partners’ interests, simplifying the trump choice.
Strategy: Players must track the opponent’s cards and calculate moves precisely, as there’s no teammate to help or create complex alliances.
These features make two-player Deberc faster and more demanding of individual strategy.
Klabor
Klabor is a card game using 32 cards. Unlike Deberc, players bid on the number of tricks they will take rather than on cards and combinations. It suits 2–4 players and can be played individually or in pairs.
How to play Klabor? Players start by receiving 8 cards each. The main goal is to score as many points as possible by making accurate bids on how many tricks they will take during the hand. Unlike Deberc, there is no concept of trump or combinations here; the key is predicting the number of tricks.
Klabor rules are as follows:
Players bid the number of tricks they believe they can take in the round.
Unlike Deberc, where combinations matter, in Klabor the winner is whoever fulfills their trick bid.
Cards are dealt in turn, 8 to each player. Then the first bidding round begins, where players may bid on their tricks.
If bids are tied unfavorably or a player fails to meet their bid, that player receives penalty points.
How to learn Klabor? Beginners should understand that bidding the number of tricks is the key strategy. The game requires calculation skills and reading opponents. To play correctly, watch the cards and others’ actions carefully to make optimal bids and avoid miscalculations.
How to play Klabor well? It’s important to estimate accurately how many tricks you can take. Unlike Deberc, which centers on combinations, Klabor focuses on bidding for tricks. Consider not only your own cards but also opponents’ intentions and adjust your strategy.
